Almond Butter Protein Balls
When you’re eating healthy you tend to stay away from traditional deserts. Cake, cookies and pies usually aren’t on the menu however there are some pretty clever ways to satisfy your sweet tooth and eat healthy at the same time. I recently tried these healthy Almond Butter Protein Balls and they were really good.
I like them because they’re easy to make and they don’t take a lot of time. They also contain some great, clean and healthy ingredients. As you can see, mine didn’t really come out exactly like round balls but that’s because I made a mistake. I tried rolling the balls before refrigerating the mix and as a result they didn’t hold together as well. (what can I say I’m still learning how to cook….) Despite that one small issue they did taste great.
Healthy Almond Butter Protein Balls Recipe
2 cups organic peanut butter
1 1/3 cups honey
2 cups Arbonne Essentials protein powder *
4 cups organic rolled oats
1. Combine peanut butter and honey in a medium saucepan. Cook on low heat for about 5 mins, stirring occasionally.
2. Remove from heat; add protein powder and mix well.
3. Measure out rolled oats in a large bowl. Add heated mixture and combine.
4. Refrigerate for one hour
5. Roll into 1″ balls.
* for a different flavor try using 1 cup chocolate and 1 cup vanilla powder.
This a great quick snack to have around the house. I imagine they would be great for hiking and camping too when you need a little energy boost on the trail. (I’ll have to make some of these for my next trip).
