How Kindness Helps Others and You
Being Kind is the easiest way to help those around you. And research also shows that being kind to others is good for you too!
For example did you know that being kind can help protect you against depression and anxiety? It’s true! In a study at the University of Texas researchers found that those who did regular volunteer work had fewer symptoms of depression than those who didn’t.
In another study a group, of highly anxious individuals, performed at least six acts of kindness each week. After a month they experienced more positive moods, and relationship satisfaction!
While some anxiety is normal and healthy if you are feeling overwhelmed the best advice is to seek professional guidance. Otherwise, being kind to others may help you be a little less anxious.
